Delika Food Group A/S was founded under the name “Delika” in 1985 with the ambition of producing salami and other smoked products of significantly higher quality than what was typically available in supermarkets at the time.
The first product to go into production was the now-famous Hammel salami. A major Danish retail chain recognised its exceptional quality and included it in its assortment, laying the foundation for the company’s remarkable growth. Today, Hammel salami remains a core product in Delika Food Group’s range, now accompanied by additional salami varieties, as well as smoked pork loin, roast beef, and rolled pork sausage.
In 2007, Delika was acquired by Kurt Møller and Tom Elert Christensen. Since then, the company has expanded through the acquisition of several production facilities and brands.
Since 2013, AJ Skjern has been part of the company, broadening the product range significantly with the addition of cheese and other dairy products of the same high quality as the existing assortment.
In December 2021, 80% of Delika Food Group A/S was sold to the private equity firm Erhvervsinvest, while the remaining shares stayed with the existing owners.
For Delika Food Group A/S, this new structure provides a strong foundation for further growth and a reinforced position within the food industry.
Since Kurt Møller and Tom Elert Christensen took over Delika A/S and established Delika Food Group A/S in 2007, the company has grown rapidly. Today, Delika Food Group A/S offers a broad portfolio of premium brands within cold cuts, sausages, smoked products, and dairy – and this growth journey continues.
